Context

tuTECHÔ, a pioneering social impact company dedicated to combating homelessness with a business model that combines real estate investment and social impact, sought to strengthen its capacity to measure and manage the impact of its activity.

The objective was to precisely quantify its social and economic contribution, aligning with its mission to drive positive societal transformation while achieving economic returns.

The challenge

tuTECHÔ, as a point of union between entities and interest groups (NGOs, investors, users, companies, etc.), tuTECHÔ, needed to develop an impact measurement and management model that aligned with its impact objectives while integrating different perspectives to address the needs of the different agents it connects.

Having a reinforced impact measurement integrated into the management of operations provided tuTECHÔ with the opportunity to maximize its impact and highlight its value more effectively to its main stakeholders.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  1. Construction of the Impact Measurement and Management Model: Define a robust model to measure and manage the social and economic impact of tuTECHÔ´s activities, ensuring precise quantification of its economic and social contribution.
  2. Optimization of Impact Data Management: Enhance current processes for collecting, processing, and managing the data needed to measure and monitor impact

Plan of action

To address the active measurement and management of the impact generated by tuTECHÔ's operations, four phases were developed adapted to the specific needs of the client and the project:

  1. Identifying Impacts and Indicators: We collected internal information and conducted interviews with NGOs to build a database of impacts and indicators, aligning with standards and reference measurement frameworks.
  2. Prioritization of Impacts and Indicators: We prioritize the indicators based on criteria such as the availability of internal and external data, the magnitude of the real impact generated and the alignment with tuTECHÔ's social strategy.
  3. Quantification and Calculation of Indicators: We develop calculation formulas for each prioritized indicator, specifying detailed methods for composite indicators.
  4. Impact Measurement Tool: We created a tool with a dual functionality: (1) Quantify and monitor tuTECHÔ´s social and economic impact, and (2) Optimize the process of collecting and monitoring impact data. In addition, we assisted the tuTECHÔ team in implementing the tool.
